Getting Hired and Improving Your CreditPosted on July 17, 2008 at 5:32 PM
Nowadays, credit reports are being used virtually everywhere to 'qualify people', its like, every financial move you make, your being evaluated, when you want to purchase a car, when you want to get a mortgage, when you want to apply for a credit card, even when you are looking for a job. Having bad credit does not help at all. What should you do then if you have a job prospect?
The best move to make is to voluntarily inform the company you are applying for. Tell them that you made bad financial decisions in the past, but was able to devise a plan to resolve that issue. When hiring an employee, companies look for signs of success. And in doing so, you can turn your credit woes to your advantage.
But how do you begin to better your credit?
1. Get copies of your credit report from each of the 3 major credit bureaus. 2. Look for negative items that you can dispute later. (25 percent of credit reports have errors) 3. For the valid negative items. Devise your money saving plan to pay off your debt. 4. Do whatever you can to improve your credit. Do some research, the internet is the information highway, it won't be too hard to find excellent resources. 5. Obtain second chance banking to show stability. (there are companies that cater to people with bad credit)
Once your back on track all you need to do is to make those payments consistently. You'll soon realize that the world is a million times more open for possibilities. |
